Swinging The Bat
15/07/11 14:45
I have a number of exciting projects on the go at the moment, but as with all writing it’s mostly speculative. However I have a feeling that I could be very, very busy next year.
Finally able to get back on track, and hopefully in a better place financially.
There is no doubt that being skint gets the creative juices flowing. I have my hunger back.
I still have to get a new agent -
I’m still in the market for commissions.
I’m convinced that what is meant for you wont pass you by.
One project that very much excites me is 84. This is a short film written for Blue Teapot Theatre company. Blue Teapot’s actors all have learning disabilities. Which is to say that many of them have Downs, or severe epilepsy, or other conditions that effect their mental cpabilities. But by God what fantastic, honest and wonderful actors they are. We plan to shoot the short film next year. It will need a patient approach, but it will be ... I’m pretty certain of this ... a world first. I can think of no other dramatic film project that has been written and produced explicitly for a cast of actors with such disabilities. Their talent will truly amaze and inspire you.
Below is a short piece that we filmed at a workshop held earlier in the year. The camera used was a simple Sony Bloggie.
