A Change Of Title

Sometimes it’s the small things that make a difference.

Trying to raise money to make a movie isn’t easy, it takes time and dedication. You need a good script, a good cast and a good title.

I always liked the title Dumpailte [Dumped] - but in the scheme of things it didn’t really best describe the movie. Sure in it a girl’s body is dumped, and Donal sets off to find her killer, but it isn’t really about that.

It has since become To Dream with Open Eyes a much more evocative title that is also open to interpretation. It comes from an Irish phrase which essentially means to day dream, or the dream of the open eyes.

However it could be interpreted as to dare to dream, to dream and know what you are getting yourself into... and really these are much closer to the themes of the piece.

It might also be an apt phrase for any screenwriter out there... after all isn’t that what we do everyday we sit down and write.?
